Shivaay Movie's Honest Review - Exclusive

From trailer, Shivaay looks like as if this film is all about mountain climbing and tourism adventure, however that is just a small part at the beginning of the film and movie in reality happens to be a completely different subject. Produced by Ajay Devgn himself, movie released with a great hype. I just watched this 2 hour 39 minutes movie moments ago and now sharing my version of Shivaay review.

Story

Ajay Devgn plays the role of Shivaay who is a expedition guide. He guides many tourists as well as helps Indian Army too. Ajay Devgn fells in love with Erika Kaar who plays the role of Olga, an international tourist. For the time being, they fell in love with each other and make love (they do not get married). Erika don't want to produce a baby, however Ajay Devgn compells her to produce the baby. She gives birth to a daughter and then she leaves Ajay and her new born daughter, and moves to her country.

Ajay always tells her daughter that her mother had died, however, she reads a secret letter written by her mother and finds out that her mother is alive and lives in another country. She asks her father to go to that country as she wants to see her mother. There the movie takes a new twist as Ajay's daughter gets kidnapped and then movie rotates around how he saves his daughter.

Direction

Shivaay is directed and produced by Ajay Devgan himself. Story is written by Sandeep and Robin Bhatt. Ajay has done an amazing job as a director as it has some really breathtaking action and aerial scenes in the film. Most of the film is shot in outdoor at the locations of Mussoorie, Bulgaria and Hyderabad, India.

Acting

Ajay shares the screen most of the times as most of the films show his struggles. As we already know, he is one of the leading actors in Bollywood, so he kept his legacy in this film too and did a great job in the film. Erika Kaar, the Polish actress, who plays the role of Ajay's lover, also did a fine job. Sayesha Saigal, the Telugu actress, also did a fine supporting role in the film however there could have been a better choice for the role of her father (Girish Karnad plays her father) as they do not share any facial similarity at all. Overall, movie had a good acting quotient.

Music

Music is composed by Mithoon who is well known for creating trendy songs. However, this time, he fails to impress with his compositions he contributed in Shivaay. All the songs are situational and none of them became an instant hit or kind of song you would play in your car or at a party, so music couldn't do much for the film. However, background score is very good, and at some points it gives you goosebumps as well. Overall, average song tracks.

VFX, Editing and Marketing

Superb visual effects, fine editing however movie isn't marketed that well. Movie's trailer had set an absolutely amazing impression on the minds of fans, however the makers could have marketed the film at local level better than what they did. Movie's content was the only thing that marketed the film. Overall, average marketing, however awesome visual effects and very good editing.

  • Visual Effects
  • Breathtaking views
  • Chase and Action
  • Mountain climbing adventures
